The badge depicts the classic winged dagger with the motto of British Special Air Service as the unit can trace their origins back to World War II when the Belgian Independent Parachute Company was formed in the United Kingdom in 1942, and later became part of the Special Air Service (SAS) Brigade and fought in the North West Europe Campaign 1944-45.
