Victorian Rifles Volunteer Battalions & 1st City of Bristol (Gloucestershire) Rifle Volunteer Corps Officer’s QVC Silver Plated Shoulder Belt Plate (SBP). An impressive and well made item; potentially worn by a number of smaller units or volunteers who had not yet invested in their own designs but, attributed to the 1st City of Bristol RVC by Brinson (see Ref Below).

Two part construction with all screw posts and one remaining retaining nut. Blank scroll, French Bugle with dimpled background offset by a laurel wreath. Circa 8.4cms tall and 7.3cms tall. Worn By Glos circa 1859 - 1887.
