The British military command began officially issuing dedicated Jungle Green uniforms to replace the impractical desert-style gear.
Indian Production: Clothing factories located in India started mass-producing lightweight grey-green cellular cotton (Aertex) blouses and long drill trousers.
1944 Standard: By early 1944, these lightweight green aertex items and specialized bush jackets were in widespread operational use across campaigns in Burma. In January 1945 a darker green uniform and title was introduced.
