cWWII, East Central District Formation Sign; encompassed Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Huntingdonshire and Northamptonshire.

Designed by Corporal Norman Eisennegar, a soldier of Swiss descent then serving in the RAOC, as a mechanical draughtsman at the Weedon Central Ordnance Depotin Northants. It reflected the historic links of these counties with Oliver Cronwell and his ironsides which were largely raised in Huntingdon and Herts. VGC. Removed from Battle Dress.
