The 6th Queen Elizabeth's Own Gurkha Rifles was a distinguished infantry regiment of the British Indian Army, raised in 1817 and active until 1994, when it became part of The Royal Gurkha Rifles. Famous for service in Burma and Italy during WWII and later in Malaya, they are known for their service with British Forces after India's independence, with the 1st Battalion leading the famous charge at Gallipoli's "Gurkha Bluff".
