c1941-52 WW2 Royal Observer Corps (ROC) Lapel & Qualification Cap Badge

R.O.C. A scarce, 1941 to 1952 large silver plate badge with pale blue enamel circlet 'Forewarned is Forearmed' and 'Royal Observer Corps', surmounted by a King's Crown. In the centre depicting an Elizabethan coast watcher holding a flaming torch and scanning the horizon. Good condition, with original buttonhole fitting.

The 'Observer Corps' was awarded the title 'Royal' by His Majesty King George VI in April 1941, in recognition of service carried out by Observer Corps personnel during the Battle of Britain.
