c1911-21 The Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire) Officers' Gilding Metal Forage Cap Badge

Unusual, gilding metal die-struck. Loyal North Lancs scroll as the '1911 edition' slightly modifies the collars description "as for tunic, but smaller with a scroll as per forage cap". Gilding metal (not the usual bronze OSD collar) this pattern (with scroll) is the same material, same die struck and same pattern as worn by officers on the pagri / sun hat". However, the lugs are not long enough?. Therefore, possibly an Offrs' forage hat badge. GC.

NB: This pattern collar / pagri badge with scroll was only worn by Officers.
